Teaching Strategies and Practice

The following key instructional strategies and philosophies are embedded in our daily teaching practices and in Ajial Curriculum.

Teachers use as wide a variety of teaching and learning strategies as necessary; so that every child is able to learn using his or her own talents and learning styles. Differentiated practices are incorporated by all teachers.
A holistic, authentic approach to learning that actively addresses the issue of language acquisition by looking after both the child’s mother tongue and the second languages (English & Arabic).
A balanced, literacy approach to language learning.
An increasing balance between formative and summative assessment as the child moves upwards through the grades, with a focus on formative and performance-based assessment.
AJIAL teachers understand that academic development requires us also to be compassionate towards student physical, social and emotional needs.
